How to Anchor a St. Andrew's Cross
Most freestanding crosses are usable without floor anchoring for standard restraint play. For more dynamic use β impact play or vigorous activity β floor anchoring adds significant safety margin.

Floor Anchoring
Most freestanding crosses have base plates with pre-drilled holes for floor anchoring. Use appropriately rated fasteners for your floor type: lag bolts into wood subfloor, concrete anchors for concrete. The anchors don't need to be permanent β they can be loosened and the cross moved when needed.
Wall Backing
An alternative is positioning the cross base against a wall and using a wall bracket at the top of the cross that contacts the wall. This provides significant stability without floor penetration. The cross can be repositioned by moving it away from the wall.
When Anchoring Is Required
If you use impact play while someone is on the cross, or if the person will lean or pull significantly on the restraints, floor anchoring is strongly recommended.
