What Size St. Andrew's Cross Do I Need? Height, Width & Fit Guide

What Size St. Andrew's Cross Do I Need?

St. Andrew's Cross sizing affects who can be comfortably restrained on it and how your play space accommodates it.

Height

Standard crosses are sized for users up to approximately 6 feet tall. The wrist restraint points should be at or slightly above the user's fully extended arm height. For users over 6 feet, look for crosses with restraint points adjustable to at least 84 inches from the floor. Most quality crosses have adjustable restraint points; verify the adjustment range before purchasing.

Width

The ankle restraint points should allow a comfortable standing spread without overextension. For most users, 18–24 inches of ankle-point spread is comfortable. Users with limited flexibility may want a narrower spread option.

Room Clearance

The assembled cross needs floor clearance equal to its width on each side, plus at least 3 feet behind it. Measure your room before ordering. A cross that doesn't fit comfortably in your space is a hazard, not an asset.
