How to Organize Sex Toys by Material: A Storage Guide

How to Organize Sex Toys by Material

Organizing by material is more than a tidiness preference — it prevents chemical reactions between incompatible materials that can degrade or permanently damage toys.

Why Material Separation Matters

Certain materials are chemically reactive with each other. Silicone can bond to silicone from different manufacturers. Soft PVC and TPE contain plasticizers that migrate out of the material over time — when these contact silicone, they can cause permanent surface damage.

Material Groups

Non-porous hard materials (glass, stainless steel, hard plastic, ceramic): can be stored together safely. 100% silicone: store in individual pouches. Soft TPE/PVC: always store individually and never in contact with silicone. Leather/fabric accessories: store separately from toys; they transfer oils.

Practical System

Color-coded pouches make material-based organization intuitive: one color per material type. Label them initially — over time you'll know the system by color without thinking about it.
