How to Set Up BDSM Furniture
Most BDSM furniture arrives flat-packed or in a few large components. Setup is straightforward if you follow the right sequence.

Before You Start
Clear a workspace 1.5× the size of the finished piece. Read the full assembly instructions before picking up any tool — sequence matters more than people expect. Gather: a socket wrench set, an Allen key set, a rubber mallet, and a second person for large pieces.
Assembly Sequence
Always build from the bottom up. Complete the base and legs before attaching the top. Hand-tighten all bolts before applying torque — this lets you adjust alignment. Final tighten all connections, then go around again to verify nothing loosened.
Load Testing Before First Use
Apply static load before dynamic load. Sit on the piece with full body weight for 60 seconds. Then shift weight to simulate actual use. If anything creaks or feels unstable, identify and fix it before using with restraints.
Placement
Position furniture so both partners can approach from multiple sides. Leave at least 3 feet of clear space around the primary use area. The path to the door should always be unobstructed.
